➟ Manufacturing 5 trucks with unique front bumper designs to accommodate different terrains in India.
SOLUTION
➟ Gennuine Global’s large frame SLA machines 3D printed the entire main section of the bumper as a single piece. After hand finishing, a silicone mold was created, and 5 copies were cast using High Impact ABS Like Polyurethane material. Bottom skirts were 3D printed at varying heights based on specific truck requirements. Mechanical interlocking features were designed to securely attach the SLS components to the bottom of the cast bumpers.
BENEFITS
➟ Transitioning from the traditional 6-8 week injection molding or CNC machining process, the customizable 3D printed pattern and silicone tool enabled up to 50 casts, delivered within a week. By combining multiple Gennuine Global processes, a purpose-built manufacturing approach was established, incorporating 3D printing, cast urethane, and engineering expertise to deliver seamless end products for functional use in the field.
